Apple TV+ Drops Trailer for New Global Music Show KPOPPED
Apple TV+ has revealed the first trailer for its new eight-episode competition series KPOPPED, launching worldwide on Friday, August 29. The show stars global superstar PSY, the artist who made K-pop a household name with “Gangnam Style,” and Grammy-winning icon Megan Thee Stallion, who also serves as an executive producer. Created by executive producers Lionel Richie and Miky Lee, the series unites Western hitmakers with top K-pop idols for bold, high-energy reimaginings of classic songs.
Hosted by actor and comedian Soojeong Son (Search Party, Servant), each episode pairs a Western artist with a K-pop group to reinvent one of their best-known tracks. After just a short rehearsal period, the acts debut their collaborative performance before a live audience in Seoul. Viewers in the crowd cast votes to crown the standout “K-popped” performance of the night, and the episode closes with an exclusive stage from the K-pop idols.
The production team includes Moira Ross, Lionel Richie, Miky Lee, Megan Thee Stallion, and Greg Foster, with Harry H.K. Shin and Jake Hong as executive producers and Ki-woong Kim producing on behalf of CJ ENM Co., Ltd., the powerhouse behind some of Korea’s biggest music shows. Chris Culvenor, Paul Franklin, Wes Dening, and David Tibballs executive produce for Eureka Productions (a Fremantle company), along with Bruce Eskowitz.
