Lady Gaga has postponed her scheduled performance at Miami’s Kaseya Center after experiencing vocal issues that made it unsafe for her to continue.
In a message shared with fans on Instagram, Gaga expressed her regret: “I’m truly sorry, but I need to postpone tonight’s show in Miami. During rehearsal last night and again during vocal warmups today, my voice became very strained. Both my doctor and vocal coach strongly advised me not to perform due to the risk involved.”
The singer, who has earned 14 Grammy Awards, is currently on her Mayhem Ball world tour, supporting her latest album Mayhem, released in March. Her next stops, according to her official website, are set for September 6 and 7 at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Gaga explained that the tour’s demanding schedule has affected her voice: “I want to power through for you, but I can’t risk causing long-term damage to my vocal cords. With a live show of this scale, the risks are significant. This was such a painful decision to make, but protecting my voice must come first. Please accept my sincerest apologies for the disappointment and inconvenience.”
Her representatives confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that the cancellation came about an hour before the show was due to begin. Gaga addressed the crowd at 7:50 p.m., though she was originally slated to take the stage closer to 9 p.m. The Kaseya Center also posted the postponement notice on X at 8:16 p.m.
The Miami performance would have been the last of three shows in the city, following concerts on August 31 and September 1. Gaga reassured fans that her team is already working to reschedule the missed date.
The pop icon began her tour on July 16 in Paradise, Nevada, and is scheduled to wrap up in Tokyo on January 30. Coinciding with the Miami announcement, she also released a new track, The Dead Dance, along with a music video directed by Tim Burton. The song, cowritten with a high-profile collaborator, also appears in season two of Netflix’s hit series Wednesday, which is now streaming.
