Lil Nas X Arrested in Los Angeles, Faces Misdemeanor Charge After Early-Morning Incident

Rapper Lil Nas X, born Montero Hill, was taken into custody Thursday morning in Los Angeles and booked on a misdemeanor charge tied to an alleged altercation with a police officer.

According to jail records reviewed by Entertainment Weekly, the 25-year-old was booked at 11:22 a.m. local time following his arrest earlier that morning around 6:10 a.m.

Authorities responded after multiple calls reported the artist walking through the streets wearing only underwear and boots. Police located him and later transported him to a nearby hospital for what has been described as a possible overdose before he was booked into Los Angeles County Jail.

The case was first reported by TMZ.

On Thursday, the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that officers were dispatched after receiving calls about a nude man in the street. While the spokesperson verified that a suspect had been arrested for charging at officers, they did not release the individual’s name.

“Officers responded to the 11000 block of Ventura Boulevard around 5:50 a.m. regarding reports of a nude male in the roadway,” the LAPD spokesperson said. “Upon arrival, the man ran toward officers and was detained. He was transported to a local hospital for what appeared to be a possible overdose and later arrested on suspicion of battery against a police officer.”

Efforts to reach representatives for Lil Nas X on Thursday were unsuccessful.

The arrest follows the January release of his EP Days Before Dreamboy, which features the singles Light Again!, Hotbox, and Big Dummy!.

Back in April, the Grammy-winning artist opened up about a health scare that landed him in the hospital. A video he posted from his hospital bed showed him struggling to move the right side of his face. “Lost all control over this side,” he told fans, pointing out how even a smile wasn’t fully there.

He tried to laugh it off, joking, “I can’t even laugh right—what is this?”

To calm worried followers, he later jumped on Instagram Stories with a lighthearted message: “I’m good! Don’t be sad for me, just dance instead.” In a follow-up post, he shared a hopeful update, saying the recovery had already begun.
